Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dun edin, as under: — For Wellington and Main Trunk offices daily at 6.30" a.m. Late fees, C.P.0., 7.4< a.m., mail van 8 a.m. Also, supplementary mails at 10.30 a.m. Late fees, C.P.0., 10.4J a.m. Guard's van, 11.15 a-m. For Palmerston, Oamaru, Waiiaate, Te muka, Timaru. Ashburton, Christchurch overland daily, at 6.30 a.m. (lato letteu C.P.O. 7.40 a.m., mail van 8 a.m.), and ai 10.30 a.m. (late letters C.P.O. 10.45 a.m. guard's van 11.15 a.m.). For Greymouth, Hokitika, and Rcefton Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 10.34 a.m. For Invercargill and Intermediate Offices daily at 7.30 a.m. (iate letters C.P.0., i a.m., on mail van at 8.25 a.m.), and at 3.4! p.m. (late letters C.P.O. 4 p.m., guard': van 4.25 p.m.). •For Oamaru, Timaru, and Intermedial Offices, daily at 2.30 p.m. (late letters or guard's van 3.18 p.m.). For Cromwell, Clyde, Ranfurly, Naseby via Ranfurly and Intermediate Offices, daili at 6.30 a.m. (late letters on guard's vai 7.45 a.m.). THIS DAY (SATURDAY), SEPT. 26. For the Australian States, via Aucklam (to connect with the Riverina), at 10 a.m. For the Australian States, via Bluff, pe Kaitangata, at 3.30 p.m. Late letter guard's van 4.25 p.m. Money orders tor places within the do minion close one hour before advertise* time of closing letter mails. Money orderi for places beyond the dominion for despatcl by the North or South Express close at } p.m. the previous day. The late fee is Id in addition to ordinary postage. The late-fee box on Second Nortl Express is available for letters only. Registered mails cloee one hour before ad Yfrtised time of closing ordinary mails. Book packets, commercial papers, ant newspapers close half an hour before th( advertised timo of letter mails. The rate of postage on correspondence ad dressed to Samoan territory, recently in thi possession of Germany, is now the same ai for inland postal matter, except in the caei of letters, the fate for which in the mean time will be one penny per ounce. , Wm.
