ROSLYN METHODIST CHURCH
SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. Tho thirty-sixth anniversary of the Roslyn Methodist Church Sunday School has just been concluded. On Sunday the special services were very largely attended. Last night the annual soiree took pleae, followed by a public meeting, presided over by Mr H. J. Malcolm, Sunday school superintendent. The tea tables wero crowded at more than one relay, and the meeting that followed filled tho church seating .accommodation fully. Tho school choir, numberins about 80, provided tho entertainment, which comprised songs, choruses, and recitations. Mr J. Patcrson acted as conductor, and must be complimented on the good results of his tuition. Miss Eva Rodda accompanied tho singers. Mr A. Pearoe, the school secretary, read tho annual ro,port, which stated that the Sunday school had entered upon tho thirty-sixth year of its existence. The year closed with 146 scholars, 35 on the cradle roll, and 18 teachers. There were 60 ,on the Junior Christian Endeavour roll. During tho year tho debt on the school hall (£4l) had boon paid off. Funds had been also raised for homo and foreign missions. Tho annual school picnic and tlio socials and concerts had been well attended. Tho school work had been carried on with true- earnestness of spirit by Mr Malcolm. aided by Mr W. G. Bell and members of the Young Women's Biblo Jlnss. Asssisianco was asked in supporting the establishment of a Wesley Guild for senior scholars, and thanks worn due to Mr J. Patorson, who trained the children's choir. Miss E. Rodda assisting verv ably. Tim Rnv. J. T. Pinfold and Mr 11. J. Malcolm gave brief addresses, and at the closo of tho entertainment tho former distributed the prizes, which included 22 Robert Raikrs diplomas.
