NOTICE TO CORRESPONDENT.

" Ashamed of Dunedin."—The civic farewell to the Ota go and Southland section of the Expeditionary Force took place on the 16th inst. We do not think there has been any public intimation of the date of tho departure of tho troops from any centre in New Zealand. It was expressly desired by the Imperial Government, under whose charge the troops were, that no such public intimation should be made—and this in the interest of the safety of tie members of the forces themselves, so that tho risk of the possibility of a ' leakage of information to tho enemy's cruisers- might be avoided.
