At the Port Chalmers Bange on Saturday No, 2 Company New Zealand Garrison Artillery fired tne final competition of the third match . for prizes. ' This was also the concluding competition of the champion and handicap aggregates. The weather was fine, with a light, tricks breeze. As was anticipated, the fight for the championship was very close, so much so that the issue depended on the last shot fired. ■ Sergeant Reeves and Gunner Simmonds, the two leading competitors, lay down-together, the latter having a. lead of four .points. At the short range Sergeant Reeves reduced' the lead to . one point. The shooting, was ; so • close ■at the long range that with a shot to go, the scores were even. ; Firing his last shot.'...
