SIR JOSHUA WILLIAMS AND THE SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY.
Sib,—lt. has been freoly stated that tho Social Democratic party refused to be represented ait 1 lie farewell to Sir Joshua Williams. If this be true, it is to be re« gret.ted. No political party can claim to be a comprehensive expression of working claw sentiment that would dare to throw a slight on a gentleman who has lived in the hearts of the Duncdin people for so many years. Apart and'beyond that, when the question of arbitration dnring (lie late strike was mooted, Sir Joshua Williams's name was mentioned by t-lie Hon. W. M. Hughes is that of the impartial person whom thousands of Australian tracks unionists desired to refer tho matter in dispute, and) was as well freely mentioned here on all sides. Labour and otherwise, in the same connection.—T am, etc , SoiiHY.
