FARM BOYS FOR NEW ZEALAND

NEW IMMIGRATION MOVEMENT. (Fbom Our Own Cobuespondent.) LONDON, November 26. The party of 50 farm lads for New Zealand left Liverpool quite saiely on Saturday by the Ayrshire. Mr S. G. lionsor, of the High Commissioner's office, journeyed to Liverpool to see the young travellers depart. During the morning the Hon. T. Mackenzie telegraphed his best wishes for a safe and pleasant voyage to their new home in New Zealand, and the message continued:— "They are the pioneers oi a now movement in immigration inaugurated by the New Zealand Government, and it will largely depend upon their elt'orts and behaviour in New Zealand whether or not the Government will materially extend its generous assistance and careful protection to further parties of farming boys from this country. Now Zealand presents splendid opportunities for young men to improve and advance their condition of life. It :e a healthy and rich country, and success awaits the etoady, industrious, and thrifty youth who is not afraid to face work with cheerful spirit and firm resolution. In this manner the early settlers faced tho difficulties of pioneering, and they and their eons and daughters arc now reaping their well-desorved rerrard. The history of Now Zealand shows that th» beet and highest positions o> the land are open to any of those who are now embarking if they will only do what is ngiu. I regret that official matters prevent niy being present personally to tpoak to the young men, and conclude by expressing the" hone that they will ri,g : dly respect the requests of Sergeant-major Cooper, who has Dlld specially appointed to look after their welfare on tho voyage, and wishing them every success and prosperity."
