(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 23. Arrangements have been made through the Governor under which the Royal Military Band will remain in Auckland until the first week of March, instead of returning the first week in February. The garage of Messrs W. Souter and Co. was entered on Friday night, and a fiveseater Ford car stolen and replaced by a two-seater car stolen from another garage. TIMARU, December 23. The Hospital and Charitable Aid Board to-day refused to grant charitable aid to a man who had refused to work on account of the strike. The board laid it down as a rule that any man able to work and who refused to do so must not be {ed at the public expense.
