ORDER OF DRUIDS.
The Bay Lodge held its fortnightly meet ; ing on Tuesday, December 9, in the Druids' hall, A.D. Bro. T. Douglas presiding over a large attendance oi members and visitors. After the correspondence had been dealt with, the auditors' report and the halfyearly balance sheet were read and adopted. The report showed a steady increase in tho funds after having a steady cull on the sick and funeral funds during the last 6ix months. D.P. Bro. Green, No. 1 District, and D.P. Bro. Whitty, No 2 District, presented the lodge with two trophies for a Past Arch competition. G.G. Bro. Crawford presented tno lirst prize to Bro. Gallic, and tne second to Bro. Ockwell. G,G. Bro, Crawford and D.P. Bro. Wtutty installed the following officers with their various chairs for the current half-year:—A.D., Bro. A. Harper; V.A.. Bro. S. Anderson; Secretary, Bro. R. S. Cox; Treasurer, Bro. J. Cunningham; 1.G., Bro. W. G. Kirkwood; 0.G., Bro. G. MacNiven; A.D. Bards, Bros A. H. Tonkinson and Stone; V.A. Bards, Bros, J. P. Whitty and Hellyer. The loyal toast 6 were given and responded to by G.G. Bro. Crawford, Bros. Gallic, Johns, Adam, and Harneiss. „ The fortnightly meeting of the Good Intent Lodge was held in tne Lodge room on Tuesday evening. A.D. Bro. vValsh presided. Sick pay amounting to £4 3s 4d was passed for payment. An appeal from a lodge on behalf of a sick brother ana his distressed family wa6 received, and it was unanimously resolved to give a contribution. A circular was received containing subvention proposals relating to lodge funds, with the Government aetuary'6 report thereon. The balanco sheet, with the auditors' report, was brought down. Notwithstanding the heavy inroads on funds by sickness and other causes tho lodge was able to show a creditable balance. It was resolved to have the next balance sheet printed for tho benefit of members. In new of the excellent service rendered tho lodge by P.D.P. Bro. Smeaton, it was heartily agreed to recognise his services .in a tangible way, and a committee was set up with that object. Bro. G. Snell was appointed lodge pianist. Owing to the holidays tho next meeting of the lodge will not be held till January 6.
