(Received Dec. 22, at 9.50 p.m.) Armstrong has been committed for trial on a charge of murdering Albert Edward Wilson last week. Evidence was- given that Wilson was married and 37 years of age. He was a native ol Wellington, New Zealand. Jlts Armstrong gave evidence that Wilson had written letters to her threatening to shoot her and her husband unless she did what he asked her to do. She did not know why. Other evidence showed that Wilson had told several people that he intended to go to Armstrong's on the night of the tragedy aiTd shoot Armstrong. The latter was informed, and he bought a revolver for protection. When he opened the door Wilson pointed a revolver at Armstrong, who fired and chased Wilson, filing three more shots, Wilson did not fire his revolver, which was not loaded. A cablegram received on the 18th inst. slated that a man named Henry Armstrong had surrendered to the police, confessing that he shot and killed a man named Wilson at Maecot, allegedly in eelf defence. Armstrong, who is 26 years of ago, was charged with the murdor of Wilson. Counsel for the defence stated that Annstrong was a highly-rcspectcd resident of Mascot. Wilson Inn) been worrying and pestering him for some time past, and said he would have his wife by fair means or foul, and Armstrong was obliged to 6Cek police protection. On the 17th Wilson wont to Armstrong's door and drew a revolver. Armstrong, however, fired first. Afterards ho surrendered to the police.
