CATLINS-TAHAKOPA RAILWAY LEAGUE.
A meeting of tho executive of the CatlinaTaliakopa ltaihyay Leaguo was hold yesterday afternoon, and was attended by Messrs G. I'enwick (in tho chair), Wilson, Taylor. Vf. B. M. Fca, D. M. Fea, Edmond, Brown ind_ Waters (secretary) i 1
Mr Waters mentioned {hat the Publio Works Eetimatcs had been received and that it was usual to acknowledge them. The number of men at present working on this lino wm very 6mall, but ho had no fresh report to submit. It was agreed to adopt tho nsual course by gratefully acknowledging tho Bum placed upon tho Estimates for tho prosecution of tho line. It was also decided to write to headquarters expressing disappointment that so small a number of men were engaged on tho line, seeing that the branoh was extending rapidly, and that the most favourable season for pushing on the work rapidly had come. It was further resolved that, in connection with the sending away of stock from the district, it bo pointed out to the Government that it was advisable to have loading banks for stock at Stoddart's.
It was decided that the next meeting of the league bo held in February.
