DUNEDIN RAILWAY FIRE BRIGADE.

ANNUAL COMPETITION.

The annual competition of the Dunedin Railway Fire Brigade was held in the works' yard on Saturday. A mini tar of friends and supporters of the brigade assembled to witness the run off. Mr Gillan (workshops manager) acted H6 timekeeper. Mr Harris (chief clerk) made an efficient starter, and the judging was in the capable hands of Captain Pearson. Three events, including coupling, night alarm, and a ladder race were keenly contested .by seven members of the brigade, the prizes being gold medals, presented by tho brigade and,friends. The following results show tho aggregate times of tho prizewinners:— Branchimm M'Far|ano (2scc), Imin 25 3-sscc, 1; Senior Foreman Haigh (scr),' lmin 33soc. 2; Lieutenant,. Monk (scr), Imin 34 3-ssec, 3. At the conclusion of the competition a complimentary toast list occupied a pleasant hour. •
