CAVERSHAM HARRIERS.
Tho Caversham Harriers and Amateur Athletic Club brought a very successful season to a close with a musical evening in the Waratah' Tea Rooms last week. A largo number of members and friends were present, sister clubs being well represented. Various toa6ts were honoured.
Mr Rosevear, president of the Otago Centre, N.Z.A.A.A., replying on behalf of the centre, congratulated the club on tlie high position attained, and polr.ted out tile necessity of serious training. He suggested that the lady friends of the club form a committee and subscribe for, a banner for the proposed track championship. The suggestion met with hearty approval. Mr Sanderson presented tho prizes won (luring tho season as follow;— Maiden Race: D. Love 1, F, Andrews 2. Vicepresidents' Handicap: A. Holloway 1, C. W. Fryc 2, D. Jack 3. Edmond Cup Steeplechase: D. Jack 1, C. Frvc 2, G. P. Crimp 3. P. P. Fryc 4, A. Love 5, R. L. Aitken 6 (medallions). Mile and a-half Open, on Caledonian Ground: Geo. Kitclien (Cargill Road Methodist) 1, C. W. Fryo (Caversham) 2._ Interclub Teams' Race: .T. Beatson 1. _ New Zealand Cross Country Championship: J. Beatson 1. Scaled Handicap : 0. \V. Frve 3. Club Championship: J. Beatson 1, J., M'Lauchlin 2, C. W. Fryc. 3. Sealed Handicap: G. M'Grogor 1, H. Robinson 2. Series of Spvinte: A. .Tarvifi 1. F Andrews and H. Robinson 2. Married Men's Race: H. Robinson 1, W. King 2. Most popular member: J. Beatson. A vote was taken by the members present for a prize given by Mr J. Brown, vice-president, for'the lcyst successful member during the season, R. C. Allen being the recipient. Attendance badges were presented to those who have lietcr missed a run during the season—namely, R. C. Allen,. E. J. Hev. G. P. Crimp, J." Reynolds. A. Love, D. Love, W. White, A. Jarvis, C. -W. Frve, A. M'Gregor, and G. Thompson. Mr Rcsevear presented J. Beatson with a handsome framed enlargement of himself, donated by ail ardent admirer who had witnessed the race for the New Zealand Cros6 Country Championship.
A most enjoyable programme was provided by the Frv family. W. Stewart. H. Robinson. F. Perkins. R. Torrie, 0. Firkin, and H. Gear. " Auld Lang Syne I' brought the evcn'ng to a close.
