HIBERNIAN SOCIETY.
(Pes Onithd Pbess Association.) AUCKLAND, August 28. At the half-yearly meeting of the New Zealand District Hibernian Society last night it was reported that the funeral fund had a credit balance of £10,500. During the half-year £260 was paid in funeial claims. A lengthy discussion followed on the scheme propounded by the executive for extending greater powers to branches in groups, in the hope of maintaining the unity and solidarity of the society in the dominion. The president gave an assurance that steps would he taken to amend the rules in this direction.
