HARRIERS.

The Dunodin Harriers held a test race at Wingatui on Saturday, over the course eelectcd for the inter-dub race, which includes the stccplccliaee, the distance being about 5j milts. A Held of 14 faced the starter, and the raoo resulted as follows:— D. R. Thomson 1, M. Mickelson 2, J. Swanson 3, W. Mayal! 4. No. 2 Team: J. Hogg. H. M'Laclilan, J. Hawkins, E. Falconer, F. Zaffer, B. Rosevoar. The Cargdl Road Methodist harriers ran from the Parsonage, Macandrew road, as tho gueete of the Kev, F. T. Read. Since taking up , his duties at Cargill road, MiRead has taken a keen interest in the.aifa.rs of the club, consequently this run was a very popular one, the members turning out in full force. M'Gregor and King luei chargo of the paper, but the paok lost the trail early in the run, and look a. course across country towards the Caves, returning by Oargill's Castle. From here a fast pack was sent o.ut. a good race homo resulting iii G. Kitchen and F. Sims getting in first. After, justice had been done to the good things provided, music and games were indulged in. The following'will represent tho club in the Intcr-club Championship:—C. Botting,. G. Kitdiin, V. 0. Stephens, G. G. Slater, E. Whyte, F. Sims. 'lhe Y.M.C.A. Harriers ran from tho residence of their vice-president (Mr J. 11. Wilkinson), Leith street. P. C. Wilkinson and A. H. Bruton were the laid a good trail. The pack, on reaching Dundas street, lost the trail, and did not P'CK it up again until going through the bush at Opoho. After crossing the football ground, tho pack had a smart run along the road to the fish hatcheries and climbed up the face of Signal Hill and down the other side into Ravensbourne. The pack wcro 'then let loose eo that the inter-club tea-Bj could put in some training. After tea - the members were entertained by Ml and Mrs "Wilkinson and lady friends. The St. Joseph's harriers ran to Waitati from Pclichct Bay as the guests of Mrs 'M'Oleary. The pack, under Captain Butcher, left at 3 p.m., arriving at Waitati about 4.45. rjirougiumt ine wnoie journey the runners showed great fitness, \V. Kennedy and W. Doudle showing good form. Alter the ran the members sat down to an excellent meal, which was enjoyed by all. Afterwards a musical evening was spent. The St. Kilda. Harriers ran from Wesley Hall, Mueseiburgh,- as quests of tho St. Kiida Y.W.B.C. Class. There was a good attendance, and the paper was in chargo of J. Edgar and A. iiockhart, who laid a good trail along Bowen street to the brick works, over the hill to the Presbyterian Orphanage, and then on to the Cove. From there the fast pack, under Captain Henderson, was despatched. A fast run home vm participated in by both packs. The club were afterwards entertained by the young ladies, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. The following will represent tho club in the inter-club race:—D. Munro, R. M'Eennan, S. Govan, J. Coburri, J. Henderson, G. Brown; emergencies—A. Hunt and A. Lockhart.

The Civil Service- Harriers held then weekly run from the St. Ciair Baths. The pack took the road past the old battery, crossed the Golf Links and around tho cliiis past the Caves. The ,captain formed a fast pack in order to give the inter-club team a run, in view d the race next Saturday. Olulee, with a good sprint, reached home first. The club wrre. entertained by Mr Murray .after the run. The following will represent the club in the race on Saturday:—G. M'Knight, A. Melville, A. Morris, A. Muvcofct, G. Lutors; G. Latimer. The Pacific Harriers ran from the Arthur Street School. The paper was in charge of J. Scott and R. Swinney, who laid a trail through the Rattray street cutting to Michie street into Bolleknowes, skirting the Windle Settlement, into Gladstone road, on to the Town Belt, to Arthur street, finishing, with a fast run home. The run took the form of a pager chase to enable the selectors to '.lick the inter-club team for Saturday's race. The following- have been selected:—J, Scott, L. H. Henderson, J. A. Bond, R. G. Ferguson, E. J. Orchard, R. Torrie: emergencies—L. J. Shakesby, R. Metcalfe.
