The National Boilermakers' Association have decided, by a three to one majority, m favour of a strike for a 2£ per cent, advance for' piecework riveting. SYDNEY RAILWAY STRIKE. MORE PROSECUTIONS SYDNEY, May 15. ' The Government are prosecuting 50 more goods-yard employees in connection with the late railway strike. POSITION AT TIMARU. CONFERENCE DESIRED. (Pee Unitxd Press Association.) TIMARU, May 15. Matters at the port are quiet to-day. Mr P. C. Webb, of the Federation of Labour, came from Christchurch to-day, and interviewed some of the heads of houses concerned in the shipping trade, and asked for a conference regarding the watersiders' strike, no arrangement having been made by the Citizens' Committee lor such a contingency. Those who were spoken to as individuals had no authority to promise a conference. The Kia Ora is expected to arrive to load meat, etc., to-morrow, and the line to bo taken by the waterside workers is awaited with interest, but without anxiety as double the number of men required can be got outside the union.
