A TOWN DESERTED

(Received May 14, at 10.45 p.m.) The inhabitants are abandoning Tormery (Savoy) owing to the approaching blasting of the eo-called rock of Dairjodes, which is poisod 2700 feet above the town and measures 2600 cubic yards. Thirty workmen have spent four months in drilling dynamite holes. The authorities have voted £40,000 for distribution if any homes are destroyed.
