ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

' \ Pejrcy Cornwall was making a trial spin in a 100 h.p. motor car at Alexandra Park in company' with William Hinkley, a boy, when a tyre, bursty and the motor crashed into a fence, N and demolished about 20 yards of fencing. Cornwall was slightly cut, and the boy nad four ribs fractured. HAMILTON, April 25. :' A labourer named ICrby, a single man about 27 years old, was killed by" a fall of earth in Leslie's Gully this afternoon, .while excavation work was in progress. It appeal's that he was backing a cart into the face when a fall of two tons of earth occurred, burying the unfortunate man. Ho was qnickly dug out, but it was ; found that a stone had struck him on the : temple, and he died in a few minutes. -V WELLINGTON, April'2s. * Three sudden deaths were reported to'day. Harry Williams, a winchman on the Ulimaroa, complained of feeling unwell this morning, and expired shortly eft-erwards. Alfred Britis, a negro, who .figured in several sly-grog prosecutions, .'died in the Terrace Gaol. He was'consumptive. John Hambro Rimmins, a boat:man, who was well known for many years [in the city, also died, presumably from : heart trouble. £ TIMARU, April 25. It; By a collision at 4 p.m. yesterday between a moteir car driven by R. Porter and a bicycle ridden by a young woman named Da'ley the latter was seriously injured. Her face was much cut about, and the glass from the screen of the car injured her left eye. It is said she may lose tlie sight' of tile eye. Her left leg was also cut. She is suffering severely from shock.
