Valentine wrote asking for a refund of oho-half tho amount of rates paid in respect of section 4, block XI east, ae the property had beeri unoccupied for OVer six memths duririg th& yeai\-Rcfund granted. Tho Inspector of Health, Dunedin, Wrote forwarding a copy of a letter of complaint received from a ratepayer of the borough regarding tho stoppage of a watercourse by a .neighbour. The inspector asked the council to pfovent the recurrence,of a iuiisanoo on the property referred to.—Received. The District Land Registrar, Dunedin, Wroto forwarding a new certificate of title under ,the Land Transfer Act for Section 35, block XI, HaWksbury Survey District, being part of tho. Mount Watkirt Endowment, tho boundary oh which had been slightly altered for road-making purposes.—Received. GENERAL. The Clerk was instructed to notify tho lessee of tho Mount Watkin Endowment that tho ooUncil required all fences, gates, etc., on tho property put in good repair before the expiration of the present lease, and it was deoided to offer by auction a 21 yeans' lease of the property, commencing June.l, 1913, the borough solicitor to prepare the conditions of lease. v Cr AUcock reported having waited on the Waikouaiti County Council with reference to repairs to tho Cemetery road, and stated that he had obtained a promise of a contribution of one-half tho cost of repairs, provided tho total cost did not exceed £50. Ho also loported that the Works Committee, after inspecting the Glasgow street bridge, had decided to procure a number of iron rails and put the bridge in thorough repair, as at present it was Unsafe for heavy traffic,—Approved, It wa6 decided to procuro 15 trucks of 26in. metal for strcot repairs. A resolution was carried authorising tho addition of a penalty of 10 per cent, to all rates for tho current year which were unpaid at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 10 1913.. \ Or H.
