REVOLT IN MEXICO
DEATH OF GENERAL MADERO. OFFICERS ARRESTED. Pres« Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MEXICO CITY, February 24. The assassinations have had little effect on the general rejoicings over the declaration of peace. The Cabinet ordered the arrest of the military officers concerned in the affray in which the ex-President was killed. The United States Minister asserts that the crime occurred as the result of ail attempt on the part of General Madero's friends to rescue him en route to the prison where he was being transferred, on the suggestion of the United States Minister, in order to secure the prisoners more comfortable quarters.
General Madero was shot twice in the head, and Suarcz was riddled with bullets.
AMERICAN TROOPS READY.
WASHINGTON, February 25. (Received Feb. 25, at 10 p.m.) American troops have been ordered to assemble at Galveston in order to embark 10,000 for intervention in Mexico if necessary.
