GISBORKK, Norember 4. _ A mishap occurred at Rakuroa tins morning, when a man named D. Gavigan, who win engaged in connection with the construction of t.ho Rakuroa Station bridge, fell from tlie top of tho pier, a distance of 40ft, and, it is feared, sustained internal injuries. Gavigan was formerly a sailor aboard tho Star of Canada, and after tho wreck he gave up tho sea, finding employment on tho railway works two or threo months ago The unfortunate man was brought to town without dclav, the Pub'io Works Department putting on a special train. The man was at once removed to tho hospital, and it is reported that ho is in a serious condition.
