FIRE BRIGADES'COMPETITIONS.
The annual competitions of the Hilbido I'iro Uigu.io were reld on Saturday afternoon in the Workshops vard under favourable conditions. There was a zood attendance of visting firemen. Mr ]•;. K. (ijjlon (U-oiks)iops' manager), Deputy J. J. Salmon and Fireman Duncan |City Firu Brigade) acted as tnnekcepors, Secretary Hillinins (City), Lieutenant Beverago (Itoslyn), and ex-Captain Gubbins (Hillside) as judges, Fireman Cormack (South Duncdm), Fireinnn J. Armit (Koslvn) us examiners, ex-Lieutenant Ross (South Dunedin) as starter, and ox-Secretary J. M'Neil (ILlkide) as field secretary, The following aro the results :— Ladder Event. - Fireman Morrison, 46 l-ssco, 1; Fireman Harrison. 48sec, 2; Secretary .Swanson and Fireman Kusbatcli, each 48 l-sscc (eipial), 3. Four others competed. Coil Event.—Fireman Morrison, 46 3-secc, 1; Fireman Harrison, 48 3-sscc, 2; Fireman Riislwtclt, 60 2-sscc, 3, Fivo others competed. Disabled Hose.—Fireman Morrison, J5 2-sico, 1; Lieutenant Brooks, 37 l-sscc. 2; Secretary Swanson, 39 l-sscc, 3. Fivo others competed. Aggregate time for gold medals presented by the brigade:—Fireman Morrison, 128 l-ssec, 1: Fireman Harrison. 137 2-sscc. 2; Lieutenant Brooks, 137 3-sscc, 3. Tho following members have been asked lo go into training in view of tho United Fire Brigades' Demonstration to be held at Wanganu: early next year:—Lieutenant Brooks, Foreman Penni«on, Fireman Morrison, Harrison, Rusbatch, and Secretary Swanson
