LABOUR TROUBLES.
AFFAIRS AT HUNTLY. NEW UNION REGISTERED. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND. November 3. Work continues at Hiintly as usual. Tho Hiintly Coal Mine Employees' Industrial Union has been registered under the Arbitration Act, 95 men having already joined. One of the rules in tho constitution of tho union makes it obligatory upon the union officials, when calling strikes ana* when disposing of the funds of the union, to lake a secret ballot. No strike to lv> called without tho consent of two-thirds of the members of tho union.
CONFERENCE AT REEFTON. (Per U.nitkk Press Association.) REEFTON, November 3. A mass meeting of the Minors' Union today was largely attended. The representatives of the union to a conference with the mine owners stated that matters had gono as far as the union could go, and a certain point was being referred to tho Mine Owners' Association. Nothing concerning details was divulged, and the meeting adjourned till Sunday next
