It is reported to be the intention of the British India Steam Navigation Company to establish a Calcutta-Vancouver service, which it is thought will be likely to raise the immigration problem in ail acute form. Hindus at present arc barred from British Columbia by law. unless' they come direct without' transhipment. If the service is established the Hindus will be able (o comply with the law, artd thus, it is feared, flood Canada with Hindu labour.
