Investigations conducted by tho Dominion Entomologist establish tho fact that there is no connection between woodticks and spinal meningitis. It was previously believed thnt woodticks, whicli aro common in many parts of Canada, conducted, if they did not cause, tho disease. Tho Entomologist, however, has Established the fact that what is known as Rocky Mountain fever isjduo to tho woodtick's bite. Tho disease is of tho spotted variety, ,-uid is frequently fatal in the American States of Montana and Idaho. TYPnOID SERUM. PARIS, May 8. (Received May 8 at 11 p.m.) Professor Metchnikoff and Dr Bronghton Alcoctl, as tho result of researches nt tho Pasteur Institute, have discovered a now vaccino against typhoid. Excellent results aro reported by tho Academy of Science.
