Instead of tlio usual afternoon molting, tlio Dunedin District Union invited its ausiliarksat South Dtuuxlin, North-l*u>t Valloy, and Port Chalmers, nnd tho "V" branch to a social evening in tho Y.W.U.A. rooiiia on Tuesday last, Mrs lJavics was elected corresponding secretary, Miea Noil treasurer, and Mrs Don press aur«|)oii(leut. Mrs P. Dick (president) gavo an afterjtoon lea to enable the members of tho executive and friends to bid farewell to Mrs JI oat Joy. Miss Maisie Dick contributed a violin polo, Miss llastio a vocal solo, and Miss Mazengarb a musical monologue. These items went very much enjoyed. Misses 5. Dick and White acted as acoom|wnists. Mesdamcs Dick, l>ou, and Kirklaml ijivc the.ir impressions of the convention, and spoke highly of tlw "V" work. An impromptu speech competition aroused much interest, tho subject being " What do you think of the present industrial unrest throughout tlio world!"
