SUPREME COURT SITTINGS.

(Feb United Press Association.) NAPIER. March 8. At the Supreme Court to-dav Alfred Robert Donaldson was acquitted on a charge of the theft of £23, the property of the Hawke's llav Rugby Union, and a cheque for £3, the proporty of the Napier Corporation. Kauru Martin, a Maori youth, who ha/I pleaded guilty lo a charge of theft from a dwelling, and against whom there were 22 previous oon-, vfctioivs. was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment, and was declared an habitual criminal. Matthew Lynani, who had pleaded guilty tc a charge of stealing from a dwelling, was admitted to probation for two years. Whatutarewha I'aikea, who pleaded guilty to two attempts of arson at Tc Ante, was admitted to probation for two yeans, on condition that ho went on a farm approved by the probation officer. Frederick Allan Potter was sentenced to one year's reformative treatment at lnvercargill for theft from a dwelling. Grant Westobv was convicted of perjury, and was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, Neil Campbell was convicted of common assault on a Maori, and was sentenced to 12 months' reformative treatment at lnvercargill.
