B. limit wrote asking for a rebate on rates on houses which had been vacant for a considerable time.—Clerk to report to next meeting. T. F. Martin (secretary Municipal Association) wrote in connection with the proportion due by the Bay Town Board on costs of a test appeal case. _ This was the. first occasion since the resolution was pn.-sed 13 years ago that a levy had been made, and the amount due by the board was only fis 3d.—Noted, awl passed for payment. Walker Bros, wrote making application to connect 11 in service pipes for new orphanage buildings to tho board's main, also t<i carry same on street line to the boundary of section.—Tho Chairman stated that he had already given the permission.—His action was approved. S. M. Park, secretary Otago Education Board, wrolo asking if the Bay Town Board bed taken any steps to givn Mr C. S. Owen tho assurance lie desired that tho divergence of the drainage discharged into a water-course on his jiropcrty should lie sloped when ho required that' it bo done. —It was decided to reply that tho matter would be- considered when the drainage of ihe district was under consideration. John M'Nickle wrote stating that ho had noticed the tward placed a pipo through Moana crescent, ami the water from it ran over sections 51 and 52, Sunshine, and did great damage.—lnspector lo report at next meeting. A. lioo Smith wrote stating that he desired to erect a concrete wall against the bank opposite bis property, and asking that the bank be removed.—Request granted; inspector to .act. ,1 Blair Mason, secretary Otago Harbour Board, wroto informing tho Bay Town Board that his board had acquired sections 22, 23, 24, and 25, township of Sunshine, block 111, Anderson's Bay district, and intended to remove stone therefrom for tho board's works. Tho portion of the cliff forming tho frontage on tho Jiarbour side to the said sections had been rcsorved for road purposes. To givo access to tho board's property it would be necessary to lower the lo.vcl of Mich front-age, and lio would bo gliwl to know whether tho board was prepared to do this or if there wero any objections, to tho Harbour Board undertaking the work.—lt was resolved that the chairman and Mr Sbacklock interview the secretary of tho Harbour Board. white's suhdivirio.v.
