Grcyinonth has unearthed a local Sherlock Holmes, On Saturday night a, ladies' bicycle was 6tolen from a local hotel. The proprietor, becoming acquainted of it, went out about 11 p.m. He found a clue in the fact that the. missing machine had fluted tyros. Thereupon he secured a strong ncetylena lamp, and, with the aid of a companion, traced the marks of the tyre, which, being depressed, left a good mark on tho-. _ roads. They followed the trail from tha liiotol laroiuid town and down to tho vicinity of the railway goods-shods, whero the machine had been carefully hidden amongst .-some timber. A long wait followed, but the culprit did not put ill an appearance, and tne searchers returned to the hotel with the bicyclc,_ much to . tlio astonishment and gratification of its fair owner.
