The ordinary mooting of tho Otago Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was hold last evening,, and was attended by Messrs J. H. Walker (chairman), W. Wilkinson, E. A. Tapper, J. J. Clark, W. 1. Talboys. REPORTS. 3tr W. T. Taiboys moved tho adoption of tho Benevolent Committee's, report. Ho said that tho application to tho returning officer for Dunedin South, to arrange for a polling booth in tho grounds of tho Ben©Tolent Institution for the benefit of tho inmatea had been declined because of tho disfrandiiaoment of inqst of tlw inmates owing to their infirmities. —The CJiairman 6aid that the returning offioor of tho district had stated that ho was in favour of tho prop&L, but his suporior. the chief electoral offioor. had declined to entertain it.—Members generally thought thai ,moro pressure should bo brought to boar to get tlio proposal approved.—Mr Myers seconded tho motion, which was carried unanimously. Mr J. J. Clark moved tho adoption of tho Finance Oonrmitteo's report. Ho said that tho question of sites for secondary hospitals wae not mentioned in tno roport, but it had boon discussed by the committee, and the owners of Bovoral properties had been requested to extend tho option over them, and tho whole matter had bocn referred to Dr Vaiintino with a view to getting his opinion on tho subC Jlr W. Wilkinson formally moved tho »doption of tbo Sanatorium Committco'a report.—Mr W. T. Talboys seconded tho motion, and said that ho had visited tho Pleasant Valley Sanatorium that day. Ho had not boon thoro for somo timo previously, and ho was pleased to notice that eovoral improvements had been cflectod. The patients spoke verv favourably of tno institution. Thoy were comfortable, and received every attention. Ho found them all perfectly satisfied and contented.—Carnod unanimously. The Hospital Committoos roport was adopted without comment on the motion of Mr J. H. Walker, seconded by Mr S. oTho special report to tho board in ro the acceptance of Messrs M'Kinnon and Hamilton's tender for tho erection of the Tapanui:Cottago Hospital was adopted. Mossra J. H. Walker and D. Larnadi wow appointed to sign contracts on behalf of tho board. ______
