Various stores and requisites, asked for by Captain Scott, are coming to hand, and they will shortly ba stowed away in the vessel's hold. It i 6 common knowledge that the Terra Nova will take down seven Indian transport mules' and 14 sledge dogs. Mr J. J Kinsey, who has been acting for Captain Scott, states that, in the event of the expedition not reaching tho polo this season, tho mules nnd dogs would be available as a reserve for an attempt next season. Even if the polo were reached this season, a party would in all probability be left in Antarctica to carry on important scientific work. This animals would be invaluable to tho party for transport work. Mr Kinscy m also sending down 12 sledges, which were asked for by the leader of the expedition. Six of them were presented by an Australian firm, and six were procured from Norway. Snow 6hoes for the mules and pomes are also being sent down. The mnlos and dogs now on Quail Island arc doing splendidly, and il is expected that they will be in fine fettlo fnr their work in the Antarctic.
