COLONEL TCM PRICE. , Press Association—By Telegr&pli—Copyright. MELBOURNE, July 3. (Received July 3, at 9.40 p.m.) Tho death of Colonel Tom Price, who commanded tha Victorian Mounted Rides in the Boer war, and was afterwards commandant of the Victorian Forces until luh retirement in 1904, is announced. He was a son of Mr John Price, who was Bupposed to bo the original Mauiice Frore in Marcus Clarke's " For the Term of his Natural Life," who was ultimately murdered by convicts, 10 being executed for the ciime. ■ Colonel Prico .became notorious over hi 3 alleged order to the troops during tho maritime strike to ,: fire low and lay 'em out."
