SURPLUS OF £1,859,823. MELBOURNE, tiuly 3. (Received July 4, at 1 a.m.) Tho Federal revenue for tho year was £18,796,993, as against the estimate of £16,841,629, and the expenditure was £16,927,170. The surplus is £1,869,823. The Customs reoeipts were £12,979,696, and the postal receipts wero £3,901,370. Tile expenditure included the following : — Payment to the States, £5,18,424; defence, £1,386,852. -
