GRAIN AND PRODUCE SALES.
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report:— We held our weekly auction salo of grain and produce on Monday. Oats: Tho demand for export has not been so keen, but prime lines are readily placed at lafo rates. Prime milling, 2s'4jd to 2a 5Jd; good to best feed, 2s 4d to 2s 4Jd; inferior to medium, 2s 2d to 2s 3Jd uer bushel, sacks extra.—Wheat: Although there is not a keen demand, nearly &11 lines in milling, condition are- toleablo at late values. Prime velvet, and velvet oar are in most demand. Fowl wheat is more plentiful, and moves off slowly. Prime milling velvet, 3s Sid to 3s 6d"; Velvet oar, Tuscan, etc., 3s 5d to 3s 5Jd; medium, 3s 4Jd to 3s sd; best whole fowl wheat, 3s 3d to 3s 4d; medium, 3s to 3e 3d; broken and damaged, 2s 6d to 2s 10d per bushel, sacks extra.-^Potatoes: Market steadily supplied, and tho tendenoy is towards lower values Best table sorts, £3 15s to £3 17s 6dmedium, £3 10s to £3 12s 6d; inferior, £2 10s to .£3 & per ten, bags extra.-Chaff: There is fair inquiry, and as,nonsijr.!lmenfs are light, 6tocks are beinjr drawn ,iirxm at
slightly improved rates. Medium quality i.s not in demand. Best oa,ton shaif, £'i 5s to £4 7s 6d; choice, to £4 10s; medium to Rood, £3 15a to £4 2s 6d; light and discoloured, £3 5s to £3 10s; staw "chaff, £2 5s to £2 10s per tea, bags extra.— Turnips: Best swedes, 20b per ton, loose, ex truck. Potatoes. —Tho demand is very elack, and it is hard to, affect sales. Supplies arc rather ih excess of tihu demand. Best tablo sorts, £3 15s to £4; medium, £3 to £3 10s; inferior potatoes, £2 to £2 15s per ton (bags in). Chaff.—Tho market romains in much the same state as lost week. Tho demand is. confined to primn oaten sheaf. A largo quantity was offered, the bulk being passed iii owing to kck of competition. Choice chaff, £4 7b 6dj good chaff, £4 to £4 ss; mediunii £3 5s to £3 15s; straw chaff, £2 to £210 a per' ton (bags extra).
