CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR SOCIETY.
The first anniversary of the Woodhaugh Junior Christian Endeavour was held in the schoolroom on Friday evening last', The gathering included'a. largo number of parents and delegates from Fort Chalmers and Oamai'u, ana a. number of local societies. Tho chair was occupied by Mr Jas. Gould, jun. A short programme of musical items and recitations were, heartily enjoyed. Mr D. ; , C.'Cameron, of St. Kilda, gave an inspiring address on Junior Christian Endeavour work, and. congratulated the society on attaining its present position. Tho secretary's report, presented by Miss F. Laurie, stated inter alia:—Tho number ■ on roll is 54. The average attendance for the first month after its inception was ,4, whereas tho avorage for the last five weeks was 39. Tho behaviour had been excellent, the various 6ub-officers taking great' • interest in their work. * Tho financial report by Miss E. Dodd showed a bakneo in hand. The Superintendent stated that the sue l ocss was due to tho sympathy of the parents, "which had been very whole-hearted. The officers for the ensuing term are:— Superintendent, Mr Noel Carlcss; Secretary, . Mr James Gould j Treasurer, Miss Eva Dodd, • ' Supper was partaken of at 9.15, after which tho Rev. Mr Tinsley expressed thanks to the visitors for their attendance. Gamts were then indulged in, and a most success; fur gathering was concluded by singing tho National Anthem. ;
