(Receded June 30, at 11.5 p.m.) The Bank of England returns show tho stock of gold coin and bullion to be £29.311,000; reserve, £29,456,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 46.71. The note in circulation total 29,431,000; public deposits, £15,607,000; other deposits, £47,235,000; Government securities, £14,971,000; and other securities, £35.356.000.
Tho bank rate of discount is 3 per cent
Short loans are discounted at 2\ per cent., and threo months' bills as follows :—London, 2 5-16 per cent,; Paris, per cent.; Berlin, 3| per cent. Contois are quoted at £79 10s. Distant cargoes are neglected, the only inquiry being for near cargoes. The weather in Europe generally has been favourable for the crops, and tho harvest in some countries is likely to commence in three weeks. A cargo of Australian wheat has been sold at 33s 6d, and 33s is asked for South Australian April and June shipment, and 33s 7Jd for New South Wales May shipment, while 32s 9d end 33s have been paid for parcels afloat and May-June shipment. There is poor inquiry for Australian spot at about 365. New Zealand is quoted from 35s to 35s 6d.
Flour: There is a disappointing demand. Tlio sum of 23s is asked for Australian patent brands on tho passage. The oats market is steady, but thero is a small demand. Cartons, 21s to 225; spnrrowbills, 20s 6d to 51s 6d. La Plata, July-August shipment, 14s 10jd. The butter market is firm, and thero is a good demand for all sorts at unchanged prices. Tho northern markets are hardening owing to the Hull strike preventing the discharge of 700 tons of Danish and Siberian butter. There has Wn a fair rainfall, but more rain is required for the pastures. The cheese market is firm. New Zealand, 60s' to 61s. Copper: Spot, £56 lus 9d; three months, £57 7s 6d. Tin: Forward, £190 ss. Speller, £24 12,-. 6d. Pig iron, 46s 4d. Siii'ar: German, 10s lid; first marks, 12-, 101 The Bradford mm! market is quiet, and prices are unchanged. Silver is quoted at 24 5-16 d per oz.
