OBJECTIONS TO SUBSIDY.

WELLINGTON, March 24. Early this month Mr T. E. who was instrumental in bringing a Dumber of youths to the Dominion totrke Tip positions 011 farms, addressed a meeting at -Dannevirke, at which he is reported io have said that he had interviewed the Minister of Labour, ask-in* that a Government grant of £9 re r hum for passage'money should be made on a further batch of young immigrants from the Old Country. Mr Sedgwick stated that there were cOO farmers here waiting for those boys. The request for a- ••■rait was refused by Ah- Millar uatil the°first contingent of lads had spent, 12 months m the. Dominion. The Wellington Trades and Labour Council has decided that a deputation shall wait on Mr MLhr, protesting against any fuitlier boys''being brought out. The co-tmcil objccts tj Stite aid for these boys or any other indentured labour.
