(Pee United Press Association.) CHKISTCHURCH, March 24. Wesley M'Kinney, the sou of Mr M'Kinney, of New Brighton, met with a fatal accident at the ]3aak of New Zealand corner to-day. He was riding over tue crossing on a motor cycle at 8.4s a.in., ana tried to pass a furniture waggon 1)3loujing to tho New Zealand Express Company. When he was level with the waggon ono of his wheels skidded on the tramway line, and the other wheel struck the hind leg of ono of the horees. M'KinIlcy was thrown off the machine, and hia head came violently into, contact with the rails, and lie sustained a fracture of the skull. He was taken to the hospital, wliero ho died shortly before 3 p.m. These who saw the accident state that both the cyclist and the driver of the van wcro oil their tight, side, and that the accident was caused by tho wheel skidding on the tramway line.

Tho police have received information that Ivatlilcen May Freeman, aged 5 days, died at Puketiro (Owaka) c-n Thursday night. The child had not been attended by a doctor. The death has teen reported to the coroner.
