A Blue Book has been published dealing with the question of Asiatic immigration into South Africa, Lord Crewe, in a despatch on October 7, stated that proscription by act of Parliament of the inhabitants of other parts of the Empire was open to the gravest objection, but the Government fully recognised the right of a self-governing ■onuwunity to choose the elements of vhich it should bs constituted;. >

Lord Crowe added that the Government only ;i6kod that immigrants should not be subjected to unnecessary humiliation.
Lord Gladstone replied that the Sswth African Government was anxious to meet the difficulty.
