— Achora Hungara, a Mojavo Indian, known throughout the South-western Status of tho Union as one of tho wisest of "inedicino men," has been appointed a member of tho "faculty" of tho University of California. Tho department of anthropology in that universty is paying .special attention just now to the task of preserving the languages, legends, etc., of the North American Indians, and Hungara has accordingly beon engaged for tho sake of his unrivalled knowledge of the traditions of tho various tribes.
