TARANAKI OIL WELLS.
ANOTHER OUTBURST.
(Per United 'Press Association.)
NEW PLYMOUTH, March 20.
One of the most violent blow outs ever experienced on the Taranaki oilfield occurred to-day, when, mud and oil were thrown fully 50 feet above No. 3 derrick from a depth of 3680 feet, the derrick itself being 60ft high. This is regarded as a distinctly encouraging justification of the company's policy in continuing this bore to a greater depth. At No. 2 bore the oil etill flows freely.
