— Ono of bhe best-knowa wits of the eighteenth oentury -was George Bubb, better known as Bubb Dodington. Here is a story of him, from "Tm Beaux and tho DaJiidies" (Sbanley Paul and Ckx):—"Hβ dined well, and liked o. nap after dinner. On ono occasion Lord Cobham began' to tell a story, and Dodington, -wiho ; was notkied to bo fast asleep, was aicused of inattention to his guest. 'Asleep!. Nonsense! I hoaid all that was said, , lie ropliod. Oobham told him. to repeat the conveisation, -whereupon Dodincton relattd the story.
