The following motion waa earned unanimously at a meeting of the Napier Harbour Hoard to-day :—" That in Older that the doubts of the origin of the sand-bar referred to by Mcs-rs Maxwell's, Yvilliams's, and Maeon's report, and in Mr Geo. Nelson's harbour pr.pcsals should be cleaned up, and in order that the likelihood or otherwise of any channel dndged thiough such eatid-b.li , .Leing wholly obliterated in heavy weather, may be given a series of practical tests, the hoard considers it desirable ■to charter a suitable dredge for three or eix -months lor the purpose of dredging out a- sufficient channel to show what effect heavy weather or floods would have upon it, <nd that the secretary be instructed to oltain all information by next meeting as to what terras a. dredge can be obtained 'upon in the Dominion, and hjw 6.0 a."
