Holway, the champion sprinter, on being interviewed, said of his recont match with Trembath that ho won fairly easily. Ho considers Trembath tho fmest halfmiler ho .has ever seen, and would be prepared tel back him against any man in the world over tho distance. Seeing that Trombat.h had run a strenuous race in tho 300 yp-rds) event, 140 yards of it against the wind, Holway considered that it was a vory fine performance'for the New Zealander to come out later on and do tho 440 yards in 502-ssec. Trembath (accompanied by L. C. jjl'Lachlan, as trained) will leave for England, via San Francisco, on April 5, and l in all probability matches between him and Kanalay (ihe American half-miler) and Davis (tho Welsh champion) will be arranged. After finishing his engagement in Greymouth, Holway will proceed to Auckland, where ho will lake part in a running carnival. Fitzgerald, the Marathon runner, who is now on. his way to New Zealand, will also take _ part. Holway will then proceed to Hastings, Dunedin, Geraldine, and Christchurch, and will probably leave Wellington for Sydney on March 25.
