COMPETITIONS SOCIETY.
A meeting of the committee of the Dur.edin Competitions Society was held ye.itevflay; Dγ Roberts in the chair, and ihoro were also present Messrs I". J. Stilling, H. F. Moss, .1. L. Salmond, J. W. Smith Canon Curzon-Siggors, and Dr flail. Apologies for absence were received 'rum Messrs S. Solomon, J. H. Walker, ami .A. U. Hnnlon.
Mr T. Whitson wrote applying for 12 months' leave of absence, which was granted; and leave of absence was also granted to Messrs Wills and Salmond.
The following sub-committees wero nominated:--
Music—Messrs F. T. Duncan (convener), 11. F. Moss. S. Solomon, W. Wills, Drs Hall and Roberts, and Rev. Canon GurzonSiggors.

The Music Sub-comniittco reported that it had drawn up the following conditions for tho choir ecntwt:— (l) To 'he one choir contest only. (2) The minimum number of voices in each choir to b:; 20, with no maximum limit, to) for a member of any choir to be 40 per cent, of attendances at church services and practices for six months prior to date of the competitions; roll-books to be submitted <it time of competition. (4) Items to be anthem, glee, and hyjiin. Tho secretary was instructed to inform choirs of these conditions.
