EVENING SPORTS.
Tho fourth and final of tho series of evening sports' meetings hold by the Dunodin Amateur Athletio Club passed off very successfully on tho Oalediainian Ground last evening. Tho wealt.bcr was ideal, the air being mild with a total absenco of wind. There wero four items en the programmo—tho ICOyds and one mile handicaps, the broad jump and tho teams relay race. In tho ICOyds Koyes, tho limit man, was first home after a good race. Twelve started in tiio one mile, and Hogg (70yds) lixl till near tho end of the second lap when Granger tool; the- lead, which ho held till the last lap, when lie dropped out. Tovric sot tho paco for a little, Mid then Fryo and Purvis went -ahead, and after a keen, liavd finish Purvis won by two yards, with Crimp a poor third. The teams relay raco provided a very interesting ovent, and arauecd a' good deal of enthusiasm. Tho winning team won easily, thanks mainly to M'Dougali. who .made up a lot of ground in In; Jap.
