GAELIC SOCIETY.

• This socisty .held its New Year Ceilidh last night in the Oddfellows' Hall, Stuart street, the Chief Mr Dugald MThereon) presiding. Tho hall was crowded with an enthusiastic body of Highland'people. Tho platform was tastefully decorated with clan tartans, the M'Pherson, Gordon, and M'Kenzie tartans being conspicuous.' ' to the air and Gaelic chorus of " Fal-al al-o." Miss'Campbell sang, '"Twa> within a mite." Mr D. L. M'Konzie con tributed a violin solo. Miss Bella M'Kcch nio danced the Highland fling and M-asfrr i M'Kcchnio the sword dance. A' Highland reel was danced by tho Misses Frame ard Masters M'Kcchnie, Masters Cohn,.andDan * , ' M'Kenzie also danced the' Highland fling >,' in grand stylo. Miss L.
