Two hundred riotous American Bluejackets fought their way to the Cafe <le Paris at Cherbourg at midnight, and insisted on getting drinks. The French patrol ordered their departure. The blue'retorted by disarming the commanding officer. The patrol then clearcd the cafe with fixed bayonets. '■ The bluejackets smashed the windows, and revolvers were fired. An American sailor had been 6tabbed during a quarrel with a Frenchman at Cherbourg, and the body thrown into the dock. The bluejackets were angered because many of them had. been robbed.
