Theee gentlomen a'aked that graders with colonial, experience should be sent Home. It was pointed out that meat was graded and there was every reason why'better also. should ba graded. Butter Which left tho Dominion as'first grade was sometimes reported to be " fishy" when it was landed. Mr M'Nab, when Minister for Agriculture, liad sent Mr Cuddio Home, but nograder had been sent after him to oarry on the work of which he had laid tho foundation. Trie Dairy Association was prepared to pay tho passage of a grader Home v The. deputation, ak<> Urged, .that the Companies Act should bo amended to permit dairy companies to appoint any person Outside tho New Zealand Accountrnu^. Association to act as their auditor. Thero wero 2200 accountants in the assor ciationj of whom 150 were public accountants. Co-operative dairy companies did not ISSU3 sham, to tho general public, but only to. suppliers, and when a supplier left tho district he had to sell his shares to the remaining shareholders, Henco the public interest was not concerned, and tho request to-be allowed to. employ an auditor in tho'district, whether a member of tho Accountants' .Association or not, was perfectly reasonable.
