MONTE VIDEO, August -29.—Sailed! 'l'ainui, for London. A barque, supposed to be the Titania, from Surprise with guano was off tha Heads last night. Sho signalled "All well." ■ Captain Watt, of the Strathclyde, reports that on Sunday afternoon, during the strong south-westerly weatlier, his steamer passed a full-rigged ship between Oamaru and Mocraki. Tlio ship at the time was working south. It is also reported that on Friday last what is believed to ba the some ship was seen off t.li/9 Nuggets, and it is thought the strong south-westerly took her to wlrerc sho was seen by {ho Stratholyde. It is thought in shipping quarters that the ship is tho Italian barque Beecroft, wiiieh left Marseilles on April 7 last for Bluff, Duuediin, and Lyttelton. The veesej has a cargo ( of 800,000 roofing tiilca fo discharge at. tlio ports named, and is now 116 days out. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's Athenic is duo at Hobart to-day, and "at Wellington cm tho 6th inst. From Wellington she will go to Lyttelton, and will call at Port Chalmers about the 20th inst. The Taviuni, whioh 1 went into Wellington from Westport to get a rope taken off her propeller, readied Dunedin, via Oamaru, yesterday afternoon. Sho will go into dock at Port.
