— New York is to create another record in sky-scraping building. Plans have been approved for a new hotel in Herald square which will cost £2,000,000 to creot. The hotel is to be one of 22 storeys, and its height will exceed that of any already standing in the city', and will consequently entitle it to rank as the highest hotel in the wotW. At present New York possesses the Plaza Hotel of 18 storeys, which \s just an inch short of 252 ft in height. —Sir James Barr has been declaring that Englkh prisons are the best sanatoria in the lung<Jom.
